Cheltenham Archers – Mixed Hereford

ImperialTargetNear perfect conditions greeted the archers as they turned up bright and early for the Annual Mixed Hereford tournament hosted by Cheltenham Archers at their ground near Cheltenham Racecourse.  The flags on the targets stood lifeless and it became clear that the wind was not going to be an excuse for poor performances on this day.  Conditions were maintain throughout the day with only a slight breeze building through the afternoon session.

Deer Park Archers competed in the Ladies Longbow, Ladies Recurve, Gents Recurve, Gents Barebow & Gents Compound categories and made an impressive set of final results. Well done to all.

  • 3rd Simon Faulker (Gents Compound)
  • 9th Martin Tucker (Gents Recurve)

Exmouth Archers GWAS Field Championships

Over 2 days excellent shooting in overcast mainly dry overcast conditions, Lucy won the Junior Competition and would have finished in 2nd place in the Senior Competition! Droitwich Double Worcester

WorcesterTargetThis is a long running tournament (35 years) held this year at the Royal Grammar School in Droitwich. This is a well lit venue which is able to offer 14 targets for shooting.  Organisation was good with the results being collected throughout the shoot, making the final results calculation far quicker than some other events.

Martin Tucker and John Dalton participated from the club against strong Recurve competition.  John entered the Recurve morning event and Barebow afternoon event.  At the end of the morning competition Martin and John both set PB’s of 252 for the first Worcester. Switching to Barebow in the afternoon, John set another PB of 245.  Martin repeated his morning score of 252 finishing on a total of 504 and setting a new PB for the Double Worcester.

  • Richard Giles (from Redditch C O A)  won Gents Recurve Double Worcester with a score of 582
  • Martin set new PB’s for the Worcester and Double Worcester rounds and finished 18th
