Liza joins the ‘Archery GB ‘World Class Programme!’
Liza Hadley has become the second of our junior members, Tom Howse is the other, to join the programme and she starts this weekend!
This decision followed Liza’s attendance at the Archery GB Talent ID follow up sessions last weekend and we understand that she was the only one of the 235 to be made an immediate offer! Liza is a member of the club Development Centre Programme supporting over 40 of our archers.
Field Captain Course
Fantastic response to our request for club volunteers to be trained as Field Captains. With such high levels of attendance at our practice sessions it was felt necessary to develop a workshop to engage more volunteers. The workshop has been developed and will be delivered by John Whitmarsh our club Safety Officer. Initially 10 members will be trained. Next month the club has also arranged and part financed a one day 1st Aid Course which will be attended by coaches and volunteers.
Field Course!
Deer Park Archers are pleased to be hosting two Winter Field Archery League events, one on 9th December 2012 and on 17th February 2013. So far these are the only two League events in Gloucestershire this winter.
The field course is open at Bubbs Hill this Saturday, 27th October. All members are invited to shoot the course starting at 10.00 am. Get there early enough to set up. If you have never tried Field Archery before then come along. Martin and Rosemarie will be there to try and answer any questions about Field Archery, the Winter League and take first timers (second and third timers too) around the course.
If you would like to talk to Rosemarie or Martin to find out more please ring on 01285 821815.

Well done to the volunteers that supported this event. The feedback from the children was fantastic and it was great to use the ‘Arrows’ Adapted Equipment with the younger children. Thank you to Sharon Bates from KLB School for loaning it.
