Momentum is building on all fronts!

A lot going on!

So much going on so just a few highlights, the common themes for many of our activities is the contribution of volunteers, the role we play in the community, the willingness of members to compete and to try new things to help us continue to move forward.  Our teamwork will need to be at its best to ensure we succeed on all fronts!

Well done to our Car Boot Sale Team!

Well done to our team on Sunday for all their hard work raising funds towards the purchase of our new ground. A recent internal email asking members to stop contributing items as the team were being flooded with donations means we can all feel that we have contributed to the success.

Magnificent Seven!

Thanks to the promise of so many contributions the team has decided to organize a jumble sale, so watch this space we will need lots of items and certainly many more volunteers to help on the day!

Community Events

Sunday saw the annual Funfest community event at Robinswood Hill Country Park organized by Gloucester City Council. Our team of volunteers had never ending queues throughout the event which started at 11am. A special thanks to Martin, Page, Liza, Sophie, Dan & Steph for their hard work. This is a very well run event and was certainly well attended by the public so it was a great opportunity to promote our sport, we even hosted a quick competition between the Mayor and Sheriff of Gloucester and some of their entourage!

The 10 week pilot programme at Leisure @ where we host a number of Day Care centres is running incredibly well, running at capacity and the progress all the participants are making is amazing. We had a competition this week and the finalists are pictured below. A special thanks to Ciaran who has been helping at recent sessions. This pilot programme will complete later this month and it has clearly demonstrated the potential benefits to all the participants.

Ciaran lending a helping hand.

Level 1 Coaching Course Dates are fixed.

We have fixed the dates for a Level 1 coaching course, which will be funded by an Archery GB Grant to help us develop the levels of participation and performance of archers with disabilities. The dates are 27th October, 10th November, 24th November & 19th January.

It is hoped that this will be the first of 2 coaching courses as we have also applied to the ‘Awards for All Programme’ for support to allow us to deliver a new programme of activities that will aim to improve the health of young people and adults with physical and learning impairments, through using archery as an engagement tool.
