Regional Championships
Last weekend we won 7 more Regional Titles, 4 of them Compound with wins for James Howse, James Lawton, Callum Fraser & Lucy Mason.
Martin Hutchings won the Men’s Longbow with a new County Record!
Hamish Ponton the Junior Gents Barebow, again with a new County Record and Tom Howse the Junior Gents Recurve also won titles and there were many other great performances that just missed out.
We also won the Junior Team Recurve Trophy with Tom, Austin, Ciaran & Charlotte!
Dan Gill continued his great form and recorded another Personal Best of 573 on the FITA18, finishing 3rd in the highly competitive Gents Compound.
The club now has over 200 members and provided 20% of the entries for the Regional Championships where top archers from Devon, Cornwall, Dorset, Wiltshire and Somerset compete. The development of archery in the county is not just confined to Deer Park, over 40% of the entries were from Gloucestershire with Cleve, Tyndale, Minchinhampton and Cheltenham Archers are all making great progress.

Well done to Cleve Archers who won the South Gloucestershire Sports Club of the Year, they are doing some great stuff at Cleve and Bob Nicholls has been leading the way. They have also become a ClubMark Club and are helping to keep archery at the top of the sporting activities in Gloucestershire!

Training Workshops
Lots going on at the moment, Saturday saw the one day 1st Aid Course run, this was part funded by the club and cost members just £5 to attend! 10 members attended.

Monday was the String Making Workshops, our thanks to Andy & Dan for a really informative evening covering Equipment Maintenance is planned for early December. Let Step hot Dan know if you wish to attend. Members should be able to do this for themselves and not rely on coaches etc to do it for them!

Club Development Centre
This Sunday morning at Balcarras another Development Centre Programme, juniors only please. All those involved should have been contacted by their personal coaches and agreed dedicated times during the morning session.
There is also day 3 of the Level 1 Coaching Course at Balcarras on that day.
BBC at Deer Park!
The BBC will be spending the day with the club this Friday from 11am to 5pm! They will be filming at Bubbs Hill in the morning, everyone is welcome to come along and shoot, they will be filming at Balcarras in the afternoon.
David Passmore BBC Presenter will be with Deer Park most of Friday!
Gloucestershire Diamond Jubilee Sports Awards
The event will take place this Monday evening (19th November) at the Centaur, Cheltenham Racecourse. The Club and its members are up for 3 awards, however regardless of the outcome we know from previous experience that it will be a great evening! In addition to the tickets issue directly to some of our members by the organizers there were 2 complimentary tickets allocated to the club, following a ballot our congratulations go to Mel (Social secretary) and Liza (Coach & Archer) who will be representing the club at the event.
